Dr. J. Moreau graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at McMaster University in 1989. He went on to become a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Obstetrics and Gynecology following his residency at McMaster University. While completing his residency, Dr. Moreau was awarded the R. T. Weaver award for his research. He was awarded Resident of the Year for his development and implementation of an OSCE to prepare final year residents for their upcoming fellowship exam. This program continues to this day. Despite offers to continue in an academic position, Dr. Moreau moved back to his roots and established a thriving practice in Barrie, Ontario.

After 5 years in practice, a void in infertility services was noted in the area and, along with his colleagues, established the Barrie Fertility Centre in 1999. Over the last 20 years, Dr. Moreau has provided guidance and support for couples as they navigate along this difficult path. Dr. Moreau has been integral in not only helping couples conceive but has followed many couples prenatally and been present at the birth of their baby. This circle of care is rare in this specialized field of medicine.

Dr. Moreau continues his busy obstetrical practice, with an excess of 10,000 deliveries to date, and is currently the Chief of Obstetrics at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre.
